As the social media platform grinds itself deeper into the fabric of business communication, my initial reaction to this shift leads me to try and redefine the game. However, as the chunks of thought marinate, I begin to realize that the game hasn’t changed dramatically, only the plays we serve up. In lieu of an impersonal advertisement of promise and inevitable disappointment, we are seeing attentiveness and transparency in the form of usable content and quality entertainment. It really is a win for both businesses and their customers, because communication and interaction between businesses and customers is finally becoming what the advertising of the 80’s merely said it was: meaningful.
As a side note: this is a personal opinion birthed out of countless hours of non-scientific research and reflection. After I see the film Art & Copy, I may have a different outlook. Thanks for reading!
